In partnership with best-selling author David Walliams OBE, Alton Towers Resort created the World of David Walliams, an all new land focused around the characters of his book series. Primarily focused on Gangsta Granny, the land consisted of 2 themed flat rides, live roaming actors as well as the feature ride Gangsta Granny the ride, an indoor immersive multi-directional dark ride for younger guests, where guests join Granny and Ben on a daring adventure to steal the Queen's crown jewels. This was the first time the characters from the books illustrated by Quentin Blake had been brought to life in animated form and a 3D environment.
